Master Class
In November 2021, Crane students had the incredible opportunity of a visit from NY Philharmonic Clarinetist Anthony McGill. He gave a 2 hour master class to Crane student performers. Students also heard McGill perform the Mozart Concerto with the Orchestra of Northern New York. Thank you to the Orchestra of Northern New York and Crane Clarinet Association for making McGill's visit possible.

2016 Summit Artists The 2016 Clarinet Summit brought 4 incredible artists to campus who each gave a recital and led master classes with Crane Students. Our 2016 performers were Rebecca Scholldorf, Jen Guzman and Christina Rawady	Chad Burrow Master Class Mitchell Tellerday performs Bozza's Bucolique for Chad Burrow.
Andrew Brown Master Class Solomon Elyaho, Megan O'Donnell and Benjamin Manganiello with Andrew Brown.	Eugene Mondie Master Class Kathryn Adams, Annie Incontro and Josh Naar with Eugene Mondie	Dan Gilbert Master Class Katherine Kessler, Danielle Holmes and Caroline Zanetti with Dan Gilbert.
Carnegie Hall Crane Symphony Orchestra Clarinet Section after their performance at Carnegie Hall in May 2016.	Crane Wind Ensemble The Crane Wind Ensemble tour culminated in a performance at the College Band Director's National Association (CBDNA) at the US Coast Guard Academy in March 2016.	Andrew Brown Master Class In February 2016, Andy Brown visited and presented a master class. Benjamin Manganiello, Brandon Burgess and Annie Incontro performed for the class.
Backun visits Crane In November 2015, Morrie Backun and Joel Jaffe visited Crane and repaired instruments for 2 days. Backun then treated the studios to a pizza party at Sergi's Pizza! A great weekend!	Dr. Charles West Dr. Charles West visited Crane in November of 2015 and presented a Master Class and Recital to Crane students. Caroline Zanetti and Katherine Adams performed for his Master class.	Deborah Andrus Alumni Concert Alumnus Dr. Deborah Andrus presented a clinic on Body mapping as well as a trio recital in September of 2015. It was wonderful to see Debbie and hear her beautiful music!
Dr. Paglialonga Master Class In September 2015, Dr. Philip Paglialonga presented a Master Class and Recital for Crane Students. Mitchell Tellerday and Chantilly LaRose performed for Dr. Paglialonga.	Julie Detweiler Master Class Katie Kessler, Shane Peters, Ato Noel and Samantha Ryan (Not pictured) performed in a Master class for Alumnus Julie Detweiler in February 2015.	Elsa Verdeher Master Class During the 2014 Clarinet Summit, Legendary Clarinetist Elsa Ludewig-Verdehr gave 2 master classes to Crane students. Performers included Jenelle Yeoman, Brandon Burgess, Kyle Chamberlin, Josh Franz, Ryan Sparkes and Cameron Hewes.
Walter Seyfarth Walter Seyfarth of the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet worked with Cameron Hewes and Ryan Sparkes during the Quintet residency at Crane.	Christopher Nicholls Master Class Dr. Christopher Nichols, former clarinetist with the United States Army Band and now visiting clarinet professor at the University of Delaware was in town for the CMS conference and worked with Shane Peters, Josh Franz and Brendan Meier.	Marine Band Clarinet Quartet The U.S. Marine Band Clarinet Quartet coached students Cameron Hewes, Rebecca Scholldorf, Joseph Shy and Madeleine Klouda on the Uhl Divertimento.
Lauren Jacobson Master Class In Fall 2012, Lauren Jacobson, former clarinetist of the President's Own Marine Band and now clarinet professor at University of Northern Colorado-Greely stopped by Potsdam to present a recital and master class for our students. Paige Williams, Brendan Meier, Fiona Scales, Katie Raftery and Victoria Astuto all performed	Levana Cohen Master Class Dr. Levana Cohen from Port Washington, NY visited Crane in 2011 and worked with Joe Valenti, Fiona Scales, MaryBeth McGreevy and Madeleine Klouda in a master class. She also presented a recital.	Alumni Clarinet Choir In 2011 we had an Alumni Clarinet Summit and had a clarinet choir of all current clarinet students as well as alumni and some high school students who are now Crane students. So it was a choir of Crane clarinetists past-present-future!
Steve Girko Master Class Steve Girko, Crane alumnus and Principal clarinet of the Austin Symphony came to our 2011 alumni clarinet summit and performed a recital, solo with the clarinet choir and gave a master class to Kaitlyn Sicinski, Samantha Willert and Rebecca McVean.	Jon Manasse Master Class Jon Manasse visited Crane in 2010 for the second time performing Mozart's Clarinet Concerto with the Orchestra of Northern New York. He gave a master class working with Greg Razzano, Michael Kaiser and Josh Redman.	Sam Kaestner Master Class Sam Kaestner of the West Point Band gave our bass majors a master class at the 2010 Clarinet Summit. Performers included Kevin Murray, Kevin DeVivo, Joe Shy and Matthew Wurtzel (not pictured).
Calvin Falwell Class In 2010 Calvin Falwell gave a class to our Bass Clarinet Majors Kevin Murray, Kevin DeVivo, Matthew Wurtzel and Joe Shy.	Suzanne Tirk Master Class Dr. Suzanne Tirk of the University of Oklahoma presented a Master class and recital at the 2010 Clarinet Summit working with Joe Van Ullen, Natalie Alvarez and Julia Atkins.	Fall 2009 Crane Wind Ensemble The clarinet section of the 2009 Wind Ensemble (clockwise): Deborah Vitanza, Brian Doyle (conductor), Kevin Cottrell, Nicole Boyle, Greg Razzano, Mike Kaiser, Alison Conte, Kristen Thompson, Natalie Alvarez, Kim Harrison, Jen Guzman and Julia Atkins
Andre Moisan Master Class In 2007 Andre Moisan of the Montreal Symphony visited Crane as part of the summit and gave a recital, played a duet with Larry Combs and worked with Deborah Vitanza, Jon Goodman and Josh Redman in a Master Class.	Larry Combs Master Class in 2008, Larry Combs gave a master class and performed with the Crane Wind Ensemble at the summit. Performers for the class included Tessa Tidd, Nicole Boyle and Jessica Castaneda.	Oksar Espina Ruiz Oskar Ruiz visited Crane in 2007 and gave a lecture and master class working with Jessica Castaneda and Christina Defransisco.
Donald Montanaro Master Class Donald Montanaro of the Curtis Institute gave a master class at the 2007 Summit. Performers included Nicole Boyle and Elizabeth Widzinski.
